Efficient, long lasting and more economic. Led lights have been increasingly popular in vehicles thanks to these key advantages. Dating back to 2007, it has become more affordable in recent years, being factory-installed in a number of models.

Good news is that, if that’s not you car’s case, you can still have it. Learn more about it and how to have LED Lights installed in your car.

What makes led lights so much better than others?

Unlike traditional halogen bulbs, led lights don’t need filaments to work: the energy necessary to light it up travels through a semiconductor, that releases light photons when fed with electricity.

As tiny as this difference might seem, it’s the reason why led lights are so much better than tradicional vehicle headlights. First of all, unlike the filaments, the semiconductor doesn’t degrade over time, which means it’s average lifespan is an impressive 20 years.

Also, when it comes to convert electricity in light, the semiconductor is way more effective than the filament. While halogen light only receives 20% of the original energy and xenons 40%, when it comes to led lights the waste is limited to only 20%. This means that 80% of the energy delivered to the semiconductor will be turned into light.

But it’s not only the amount of light that makes led a better option: the quality is also way over other options. While traditional bulbs produce yellow-ish lighting, the one produced by leds is in the blue spectrum, which allows a much better vision of the road, increasing safety drastically – not to mention the modern looks your car gets from it.
